Half-marathon barrier is crossed. I ran the Dexter-Ann Arbor half-marathon in 1:39:39, or at about 7:37 minutes per mile. It was about 5 minutes in total time faster than my best guess goal, which was to run about 8:00 pace, or about 1:45:00. I ran negative splits from the first half to the second half by about two minutes, it was probably the last three miles, which I ran in 7:15-7:20-6:51, that did it. I was pretty tired at the end, but it sure was a fun course, a beautiful day, and such a great race! I think I've caught the racing bug! I'm looking forward to a couple of other races in the area, but I'm not sure what I want to run next. There's a 5K on the 4th in Ann Arbor, or the Volkslaufe in Frankenmuth on the same day. And then there is CRIM, which is also a slightly longer distance. So plenty of choices. Just a question of finding the right race, and not getting up too early to race. :-)

My wife's laptop arrived yesterday, and she spent last night setting it up. It's a Dell Inspiron. She's happy. Now we should buy a port replicator for it, or some sort of docking station.
