Lots of things going on, but not a lot of time to say them, so let me sum up.

California was a good time. It was fun to hang out with a group of people who do almost exactly the same things I do here who are from another University. (That was not the plan, on my part but it happened that way.) Maybe that's why my wife's friend and my wife get along so well? Husbands who do the same things? i doubt it, but it sounds semi-pithy. Anyway, I saw about 6 hours of San Francisco, visited the famed Rasputin Records (where Bay Area metal heads get their CDs), saw the Golden Gate Bridge from afar, and generally hiked about the city. I think I can add the Bay Area to the list of cities that it might be fun to live around. I don't think I could stand the property values, but the city sure is pretty. I was able to see a game at Pac Bell Park while I was out there. The Giants beat the Mets 6-4. No homers by Barry, or by Jose Cruz while I was out there, but there were three homers by no-name players.

I got the Mac Powerbook a few days before we left, and so I was able to play with it on the airplane, as well as use it while I was down there. It was very nice, since my wife's friends that we stayed with had a wireless network. We plugged right in and rolled on. Something pretty sweet about that, I could get to like wireless. Because the Powerbook has wireless, we bought a new wireless router for the house, and now we really can sit anywhere and be geeks. So, now my wife wanted a laptop, since her computer is approaching the 6 year age mark. So, we bought her a Dell Latitude Laptop, and it should arrive in about two weeks or so. It's wireless as well, so she can Xstitch in a chair, and message her friends on the laptop. And then, I'd like to turn her old computer into a guest PC, so that guests can do their thing without using our computers. My wife hates that, so it seems like a logical thing to do. I might make the machine dual boot, so I can do linux stuff on it, but I'm not so sure about that yet.

So, my first real race this year is coming up on Sunday, the Dexter-Ann Arbor half marathon. I've been putting in a lot of work this spring, and this race will be the payoff. It's going to be a real joy to run. Well, as much as 13.1 miles ever is. And then after that, I'm going to the Tigers/Yankees game. 3 hours between the race ending and the ball game. I'm going to be dead.
