We're still releasing contingencies on the new place. Things are moving forward, but it is taking time. We clear to close on the 28th. After that, there isn't much left.

Converted the department to DHCP on Monday, it was a 12 hour process, and I felt I should have been better prepared for it, by knowing what I have to change for each machine. In the end, there was only one real casualty, and that was a pretty catastrophic hardware failure on a linux box of one of the faculty. Getting that machine back might be kinda tough.

I got a new machine from the university for my desk from the staff upgrade program. It's a dell optiplex, and I'm going to try to install Linux on it. Wish me luck! Managed workstations suck!

Starting packing to move into the new place, and I've also started planning for my game to start in the indeterminate future. I think I have a concept that should be enjoyable to the players, and something that gives them the freedom to choose the path that they want instead of being forced to go in a certain direction. I'll have to come up with some changes though...there will be a lot of writing this time before the game actually begins. I would also like to finish up the pieces from last year's game before I really get going. Pick up the pieces, and clean up the website, and then go for broke. I like what I'm thinking, and it could work out. I'd like to get as much on paper in three or four months as I can about the general conditions and behaviours and other things, and specific city descriptions. That way I don't have to do much world building on the fly like I did last time.
